Make a Day of it!
The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day Shows in the Country and certainly one of the oldest, given that the Society was founded in 1799 and is still going from strength to strength 212 Shows later. Always held on the second Thursday in September each year; the Show attracts over 25,000 people. We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show, with its heart firmly in agriculture. Sections include cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry, as well as marquees for The Women's Institute, Learning or Life, Crafts from Cumbria, local produce Food Hall, Rural Crafts and over 350 trade stands.
Westmorland is proud to boast the largest local products Food Hall in the North West, and probably the largest in the Country, entirely supported by local producers promoting their own products, with special demonstrators and Celebrity Chefs.

Rural Skills Cumbria - Training Courses Available
As part of the Rural Skills Cumbria training programme, Westmorland County Agricultural Society are arranging a variety of different training courses for those living and working within the rural community of Cumbria (Fells & Dales Area). The programme is funded by RDPE and reduced charges apply for eligible participants.

Silage Competition 2012
This year the competition is on Wednesday 1 February 2012
The event is split into four sections - dairy clamp, beef clamp, maize and big bale - and competition is usually keen amongst all those who enter.

ASAO Conference 2011
“Wow! What a Great Conference – one of the best ever” declared John Purling, Chief Executive Norfolk Agricultural Association. This appears to be the resounding opinion from delegates, following what can only be described as “the most amazing event” – the ASAO National Conference 2011, hosted by Westmorland County Agricultural Society.
