Now in it's fourth year the Westmorland County Agricultural Society, organisers of the Westmorland County Show, will again stage Country Fest, to be held at the County Showfield, Crooklands. Another weekend of wide-ranging activities for all the family.
Celebrating the region's excellent reputation for quality food and drink visitors can try and buy a variety of outstanding quality food from exhibitors in the Food Zone.
A must for canine lovers, all dogs are welcome to take part in the Companion Dog Show on Sunday, whilst 20 different classes await terriers in the Terrier Show. Terriers are also needed for the Terrier Racing competition also on Sunday.
Brand new to Country Fest, Cumbrian Bridleways are bringing Packs & Tracks - a dedicated area celebrating the role of horses in shaping the landscape. Open Sheepdog trials will be held each day. Chainsaw carving, maypole dancing, music, Beer Festival and visitorscan even learn to dance.
The 2012 Country Fest features a packed demonstration arena with the Mini Sheep Show & Sheep Shearing Demonstrations on both days with Sheep Racing on Saturday
Sunday 27th and the Vander Brothers with the Space Wheel bring a breath taking death defying aerial spectacular, definitely not to be missed!
With lots of activites for children an expanded trade stand area, large craft marquee and lifestyle area Country Fest is the event not to miss.

Rural Skills Cumbria - Training Courses Available
As part of the Rural Skills Cumbria training programme, Westmorland County Agricultural Society are arranging a variety of different training courses for those living and working within the rural community of Cumbria (Fells & Dales Area). The programme is funded by RDPE and reduced charges apply for eligible participants.

The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day Shows in the Country and certainly one of the oldest, given that the Society was founded in 1799 and is still going from strength to strength 212 Shows later. Always held on the second Thursday in September each year; the Show attracts over 25,000 people. We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show, with its heart firmly in agriculture.
