Westmorland County Show

One of the largest one day Shows in the Country and certainly one of the oldest given that the Society was founded in 1799 and is still going from strength to strength 210 Shows later.

Always held on the second Thursday in September - with this year's on Thursday 9th September.

We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show,with its heart firmly in agriculture.  Sections include Cattle, Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Alpacas, Heavy Horses, Light Horse and Show Jumping together with Hounds and Terriers, Goats, Alpacas, Dressed Sticks, Rare Breeds, and Dogs.  Not forgetting Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling,  W. I., Learning for Life and Craft Marquees including Made in Cumbria, over 350 Trade Stands and Rural Craft demonstrations throughout the day.

Westmorland is also proud to boast the Largest Food Hall in the North West, and probably in the Country, entirely supported by local producers promoting their own products.

All the above combined with ongoing arena events in a number of locations ensures a fantastic day out for the whole family.
