Country Fest

Now in it's fifth year the Westmorland County Agricultural Society, organisers of the Westmorland County Show, will again stage Country Fest, to be held at the County Showfield, Crooklands. Another weekend of wide-ranging activities for all the family. 
Celebrating the region's excellent reputation for quality food and drink visitors can try and buy a variety of outstanding quality food from exhibitors in the Food Zone and enjoy a wide range of demonstrations within the Food Theatre.
A must for canine lovers, all dogs are welcome to take part in the Companion Dog Show on Saturday. On Sunday 20 different classes await terriers in the Terrier Show. Terriers are also needed for the Terrier Racing competition also on Sunday.
Brand new to Country Fest, Lakeland Historic Car Club display, Vintage Marquee and not forgetting the Open Sheepdog trials which will be held each day. Maypole dancing, live music, Beer Festival and visitors can even learn to dance.
Smile Factor 10 with a Kite Flying display and Teddy Bear Parachuting – don’t forget to bring your Teddy Bear, each Teddy Bear will receive a certificate.
The 2013 Country Fest features a packed demonstration arena on both days.
With lots of activites for children an expanded trade stand area, large craft marquee and lifestyle area, Country Fest is the event not to miss.

The Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day Shows in the Country and certainly one of the oldest, given that the Society was founded in 1799 and is still going from strength to strength 213 Shows later. Always held on the second Thursday in September each year; the Show attracts over 29,000 people. We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show, with its heart firmly in agriculture.
