General Information & Frequently Asked Questions

OPENING TIMES
The Show begins at 8.00am. Please refer to the Show Catalogue for individual judging times.

CAR PARK
All car parking is FREE. There are a number of public car parks and it is advisable to make a note of where you are parked before leaving your vehicle.

DIRECTIONS
The Showground is located 1 mile from junction 36 of M6 - please follow signage and not satellite navigation systems. Refer to "How to Find Us" in the "About Us" section of the website.

BUS SERVICE
There is a FREE bus service from and to Kendal (Bus Station) and Milnthorpe, which can be stopped anywhere en-route to the Showground by waving a hand. Please refer to the timetable for further information.

MEDICAL SERVICES
St John Ambulance and British Red Cross are on site and will be responsible for first aid cover. They are situated near the Sheep Lines and adjacent to the Light Horse Area. A Doctor is on site during Show hours.

DOGS
Well-behaved dogs are allowed on the Showground, but they must always be on a lead and will have restricted access to certain areas. Guide Dogs are permitted in all areas.

CRECHE, BABY FEEDING & CHANGING FACILITY
Full crèche and baby changing facilities are situated close to the Local Food Court .

CLOAKROOM
Cloakroom facilities are available for Vice Presidents within the main office complex, adjacent to the Secretary's office.

CREDIT CARD FACILITIES
Credit card payment facilities (for admission purposes) are available at the Main Entrance.

CATERING
Public catering units are situated throughout the Showground and there is a covered picnic area close to the Rural Crafts marquee (E5) where families can relax and watch the world go by.

The Local Food Court is situated opposite the Food Hall.

Dining (sit-down) is available in the Members' Marquee, adjacent to the Exhibition Ring.

The Members' Bar is situated in the Members' Marquee, adjacent to the Exhibition Ring.

The Public Bar is situated alongside the Exhibition Ring.

TOILETS
Public toilets are available throughout the site and are marked on the map. 'You are here' plans are situated at a variety of points around the Showground.
Public toilets for the disabled are situated at the Main Entrance, adjacent to the Learning for Life Marquee and alongside the Cattle rings.

DISABLED FACILITIES
Blue badge parking area are available in the public car parks - please ensure badges are clearly visible to the stewards. Toilet facilities for the disabled are situated at the Main Entrance, adjacent to the Learning for Life Marquee and alongside the Cattle rings. Shopmobility will be on site hiring out mobility buggies throughout the day. These can be pre-booked by calling 01539 740933.

SECRETARY
The Secretary's Office is situated in the Lane Farm complex, adjacent to the Cattle rings, marked HQ on the Showground map.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Please observe the animal walkways and stay behind barriers when requested to do so by Stewards. It is their responsibility to consider your safety. Please also note any regulations laid down by DEFRA with regards to Animal Health policies.

EMERGENCY SERVICES
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services are all on call and are aware of the event. The Police and Fire Service are situated at the Main Entrance.

CATALOGUES
Catalogues are on sale at £3.00 from booths located around the Showground and at the Secretary's Office.

LOST PROPERTY
Located at the Secretary's Office.

LOST CHILDREN/ADULTS
Enquiries regarding lost children or adults should be made to the Secretary's office. If a child/adult is lost please stay at the location and advise the Secretary's office. Announcements will be made via the main tannoy.

DISPOSAL OF RUBBISH
Please help us to keep the Showground tidy by disposing of your rubbish in the bins provided.

HAND WASHING
Visitors should avail themselves of the hand wipes situated in the livestock areas, particularly after any contact with animals.

PASSOUTS
Visitors are free to leave and re-enter the Showground throughout the day. Passout wristbands will be issued at each exit and must be shown for re-admission. We regret that we cannot accept any excuses for lost or mislaid passes.
