Practical Training Courses

 

As part of the Rural Skills Cumbria training programme, Westmorland County Agricultural Society are arranging a variety of different training courses for those living and working within the rural community of Cumbria (Fells & Dales Area).   The programme is funded by RDPE and reduced charges apply for eligible participants.

 

 

Trailer Handling (B & E ) - 2 per course

 

For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area the cost will be £285.63 + vat £45.62 totalling £331.25 per person inclusive of DVLA’s test fees.

 

 

 

Pesticides PA1 - Minimum 6 per course

 

Tuesday 20 March 2012

Held at Lane Farm, Crooklands. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the cost will be estimated at £80.00 + vat per person inclusive of Registration and Test Fees.

 

 

 

Pesticides PA6 (Handheld application) - Minimum 4 per course

 

Wednesday 21 March 2012 (assessment arranged at later date)

Held at Lane Farm, Crooklands. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be £165.00 + vat (dependent of equipment hire) per person inclusive of Registration and Assessment Fees.

 

Pesticides PA2 (Mounted Application) - 4 per course

 

Thursday 22 March 2012 (assessment arranged at a later date)

Held at Lane Farm, Crooklands. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be £220.00 + vat (dependent of equipment hire) per person inclusive of Registration and Assessment Fees.

 

ATV (Novice) - 4 per course

 

Monday 27 February & Tuesday 28 February 2012 (assessment arranged at later date)

Lacation to be advised. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be £220.00 + vat (dependent of equipment hire) per person inclusive of Registration and Assessment Fees.

 

 

ATV (Experienced) - 4 per course

 

Thursday 8 March 2012 (assessment arranged at a later date)

Location to be advised. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be £150.00 + vat (dependent of equipment hire) per person inclusive of Registration and Assessment Fees.

 

 

Telescopic Handling (Novice) - 3 per course

 

Tuesday 28 February, Wednesday 29 February, Thursday 1 March (assessment Friday 2 March 2012)

Location to be advised. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be estimated £280.00 + vat (dependent of equipment hire) per person inclusive of Registration and Assessment Fees.

 

 

 

 First Aid on the Farm – Minimum 8 per course

 

Tuesday 21 February 2012

Held in Crooklands Area, 9.30am – 4.30pm. For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area, the estimated cost will be £40.00 + vat per person inclusive of registration, certificate and first aid manual.

 

Farm to Table

 

CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Training - Minimum 6 per course

Monday 5 March 9.00am - 5.00pm

To be held at Lane Farm, Crooklands.  For those involved in agriculture or forestry in the Fells and Dales area the estimated cost will be £35.00 + vat inclusive of examination and course book.
